Pacemaker/Defibrillator/Loop recorder checks/interrogation
This is done with the use of a computer called a programmer in the cardiologists’ clinic. This provides information about how the device is working and about the heart rhythm by placing a special wand over your skin where the device is to allow for wireless communication between the device and the programmer does this. Your device can be programmed wirelessly.
This check is painless and takes 5-10 minutes. Some people may be advised to have their pacemakers / defibrillators / loop monitors checked over the Internet with a monitor at home (home monitoring).
